If you’re reading this then most probably your children are currently in years 3, 4 or 5 and they’re preparing for a Grammar School entrance exam.
If so then there’s a strong possibility they’ll be required to pass a test of Non-Verbal Reasoning, or, as many parents call them, “those funny, weird, pictures which all look jumbled to me!”
If that’s the case for you too, then you might find these two short videos I’ve prepared will be helpful.
They present you with some steps that you and your children may find helpful when completing Non-Verbal Reasoning papers.
Mirror Image Questions
There are variations to this type of question – with the one below you’re presented with a graphic on the left of the page and asked to select which of the graphics on the right is an exact mirror image.
Following a strict procedure each time will reduce the chance of selecting an incorrect answer and here’s one way of helping you to do just that.
Code Breaking Shape Patterns
For these questions, you’ll need to identify which parts of the graphic are being indicated by which letters and thus what changes the variations in the letters are reflecting.
Then, you can determine which combination of letters would correctly represent how the given graphic on the right is presented on the page.
