The Programme

My online 1-to-1 tutoring programme provides structured, individual support for children preparing for grammar and independent school entrance examinations.

Each child’s preparation is tailored to their current level, the schools they’re considering and the time available before their entrance tests.

The programme combines weekly tutoring sessions with carefully selected practice work, regular feedback and ongoing adjustments to help children develop their knowledge, reasoning skills and exam techniques.

How The Tutoring Works

Weekly Tutoring Sessions

During our 60-minute online sessions, we review completed work, explore areas of difficulty and work through new questions and techniques together.

Practice Between Sessions

I provide carefully selected practice papers and exercises for children to complete between lessons. These help reinforce what we’ve covered and identify areas that may need further attention.

Feedback and Guidance

Parents receive regular feedback on their child’s progress, together with guidance on what to focus on next.

Ongoing Preparation

As your child develops, I adjust the work and focus of our sessions to reflect their progress and the requirements of their target schools.

What Will My Child Study?

The subjects covered depend on the entrance examinations your child is preparing for, but typically include:

  • English: Reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, spelling and written accuracy.
  • Mathematics: Number skills, arithmetic, problem-solving and mathematical reasoning.
  • Verbal Reasoning: Vocabulary, word relationships, codes and logical reasoning.
  • Non-Verbal Reasoning: Shapes, patterns, sequences and spatial reasoning.

Preparation is adapted to the requirements of your child’s target schools, rather than following the same syllabus for every pupil.
